Graduation Day Videos!

I took a few videos on graduation day. It was a very emotional night. I almost lost it several times, but I held it together. It is, after all, only Kindergarten, right? I have a wonderful girl. She is the best. I will add pictures later when I get them as my dad is holding them hostage. Just kidding. I did the video and dad (who is an amazing photographer who needs to teach me a thing or two about taking photos) took the photos so we were covered.

Here are a few of the videos from the night. Enjoy!

Graduation Day!

Monday is McKenzie's Kindergarten graduation. I can't believe that she has completed Kindergarten already. It seems like just yesterday that I was changing her diaper. She is so excited about 1st grade and summer vacation. Not necessarily in that order.

She has grown up so much this year. She is becoming such a wonderful girl. She is a great help to me here at home. She is sweet and kind and is always thinking about others. Everyday she surprises me with how generous she is. I am not sure where she has learned it either, because she definitely didn't learn it from me.

Here is a picture that was taken at Easter by my friend Melissa. I think she got a great shot of her looking back, yet joyfully moving forward. You can see her excitement.

Little girl I am so proud of you! I can't believe this year has gone so fast. Remember that I love you always and forever no matter what. You will always be my sunshine!

Love,
Mom

Easter Photos

Easter photos are coming soon! We originally had a photo session with Images Everything. It rained and we couldn't make the rescheduled date. I called a friend that I recently reunited with on FB and asked her if she could take some photos. She was an art major in college and is planning on teaching Art. Maybe she can teach me some too!

She is uploading the pics this week and I should have them soon. Hopefully I will be able to post some of them soon. She sent me a sample of a few of them and she did a great job. We had a very casual photo shoot. We just followed the kids around the UT gardens. She brought her kids and the McKs had a great time playing with them at the gardens. She was able to get some good shots with smiles because her girls were entertaining the McKs.

Praying for Stellan

I know that many of you follow McKMama at www.mycharmingkids.net. Her miracle baby is in the hospital with sustained SVT (a form of tachycardia). The doctors are trying a number of things to help him as continued SVT can be life threatening. Please pray for this sweet family.

They are a wonderful testimony to God's faithfulness in times of trouble and times of joy. If you click the praying for Stellan button on the right side of my blog, it will take you to their site where she is updating us on his condition as she can.

Gymnastics fun!

I had the opportunity to video a few minutes of McKenzie's gymnastics class. I thought you might enjoy the watching a few minutes of her activities.

After this, Kaleb and I went to his class. We had a great time moving, jumping and swinging on the bars and rings. They are both little monkies.

McKaleb had a stomach virus earlier in the week, and unfortunately he gave it to me. I left work early on Wednesday and was out all day Thursday because of it. It was horrible. Hopefully none of you will get it.

I was able to tag 95% my Duck Duck Goose Items so that I will be ready for drop off next week. It was either do it yesterday while I was home sick or do it this weekend! I am planning on dropping stuff off on Friday! I can't wait to get the stuff out of the house!

It is supposed to be a semi-nice weekend. I hope you have a fun one!

A trip to the grocery store

Last night I took my little McKs to the grocery store. Kenzie needed broccoli for her St. Patrick's Day Party. So after dinner we go to the store. Since we had eaten, I figured that we would spend less on groceries - wrong. But I digress, back to the beginning.

I made the mistake of giving in and letting the kids get the car buggy. For those of you who haven't experienced this, it could be a wonderful way to entertain your child while you are in the store. The car has 2 seats and 2 steering wheels with horns for the kids to pretend to drive. The McKs got into the car section and proceeded to play. By the time we were at the end of the first aisle (the fresh fruit and veggies section) they were over it. Kenzie got out because Kaleb was hitting her because she was taking up too much room in the car for his liking. After she got out, he began to climb out the side "windows" and sit on them ala Dukes of Hazzard style. Ok. Not too bad. That lasted about 1/2 an aisle.

He then got this bright idea to sit on the roof of the car. Stop the cart and have a conversation with him about the warning labels and why he can't ride on the roof. Meanwhile sis is hopping up and down the aisle doing some dance she made up. Kaleb gets back into the car and rides on the windows again.

All the while, I have to keep telling the kids to stay on their side of the aisle and quit blocking other people. They haven't mastered staying on one side of the aisle so that others can get through. And I am still pushing the stupid car buggy. Fortunately it drives well, but it is still awkward.

About halfway through our trip, Kenzie decides to hang on to the top of the car where the winshield would meet the roof and drape her body across the hood. Ok. When she is done with that, little man had to have his turn. I let this continue for a couple of feet and then stopped the cart and pulled him off. The manager of the dairy section was looking at us funny. By this time I was very cranky with them. I hate the grocery store, and their antics were getting on my nerves and making a dreaded trip longer.

We finally made it to the front of the store without killing each other and get checked out. I have promised the kids that I will never ever, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever get a cart that had the car on it again. Do not ask. It will not happen unless I have been hit over the head and have forgotten this day.

We did manage to get out of the store with everything on the list (which I left in the car).

On a brighter note, Kenzie got her report card last night. She had all "S's" and was checked off on all of the skills that she was supposed to have learned thus far. The teacher had written a sweet note. She said that McKenzie has learned a lot and has shown great progress this year and that McKenzie should be very proud of herself.

Thankfully, she is proud of herself. If you ask her, she is the smartest kid in the class.

Well, it is good to be confident in your skills.

This morning on the way to school, we were going to pray as usual, but she had some questions. She told me that she wanted to be baptized. I explained that you can't be baptized just because, but you are baptized to show that you have accepted Jesus as your Savior. I went through ABC's of becoming a Christian. I only had a few minutes, so I did the best that I could to explain it to her. I am excited that she is interested. It is so simple to be saved! I was so excited, that I may have given her more information than she needed. This isn't the first time we have talked about it, so I know she is absorbing what she is learning in Sparks. Please pray that she will feel God calling her to Him and that she will hear and begin a relationship with Him soon!

Have a great day!

Finally on the Road to Recovery!

On February 23rd, I updated you on the health of the little ones. Little did I know that things were about to get worse for McKenzie. The sinus infection was not sounding any better after 5 days on the antibiotics. I called the nurse at her drs office and Ms. Sarah recommended that Kenzie come in that afternoon.

So Granny takes her to the office and they run some tests and she had walking pneumonia. She got to stay home from school the next day. The dr seemed to think that the worst was over and that she should be better soon. He prescribed her a nasty antibiotic that McKenzie says is worse than the Augmenten that she hates. She cried and fought with me everytime she had to take it. Thankfully she made it through the entire round and is much better.

Kaleb didn't get the pneumonia - for which I am very thankful. I am not sure that his little lungs could have taken it as well as she did since he has had all those problems from RSV.

For those of you who aren't familiar with RSV, it is a respiratory virus. It manifests as a cold in adults, however for babies it can be very frightening. RSV is passed just like a cold, so most likely you will not know who gave your child the virus. It is very contagious. It can kill babies. It tends to be like other colds and presents in the winter. Please keep your small babies away from crowded areas where germs are spread during the winter months.

When I had McKenzie in December, the doctor recommended that we keep her away from crowds until cold and flu season was over. We didn't take her out much and definately didn't let just anyone hold her. ( I definately didn't let the woman that I didn't know at Toys R Us hold her. She had the nerve to ask!) We also kept her out of the nursery at church so that she didn't pick up anything there. Once cold and flu season was over, we let her stay in the nursery and go out in public more. She has been a healthy child overall and we didn't have any RSV scares with her.

So happy week! The kids are feeling better. I will try to take some pictures of our adventures and post them soon!
